Dries Van Noten - Spring / Summer 2015 |
Van Noten explains, “It was about a girl who loves festivals: Stonehenge, Glastonbury, Burning Man. She loves nature; she doesn't follow the rules so she puts on precious fabrics in whatever way she wants”. He uses soft fabrics of chiffon and silk in contradicting colours of mustard yellow, lavender and burnt orange.
Van Noten layers fabrics
of horizontal and vertical black lines with oriental patterns also conveying a
feeling of content perplexity. Notions of dreams are shown in the main image
where all the models lay on the runway as though they are daydreaming.

The image above shows the atmospheric lighting used for the catwalk. Only the models are seen, the audience had been blacked out and the lights are slightly shaded in areas creating the effect of clouds.
