The dream drawings were a selection of illustrations unconsciously relating to the artists dreams.
The two hundred pictures were captions of imagination, for more depth and cultural inspiration for Shaw's later work.

Jim Shaw, Mississippi River Mural (2013)Shaw combines black and white images of superheroes and comic book characters to symbolise specific moments and people of western American history. The recognisable characters of King Kong and Wonder Woman are also shown. The way Shaw has developed the images into the background picture, again conveys the theme of combining realism and the sub-conscience. |
